incremental moves carefully wrought
until our script ran out of twists
No one watching expected this
And all the onlookers who can't see the plot
Surface stenography. Impossibly lost

Now's the time when the cullings begin
Indiscriminately killing your heroes.
Switched up allegiances to a lost cause
Every last fixed point is suddenly gone
